We are pleased to announce “Regional Affairs”, featuring a collection of new works from regionally diverse painters Aron Dubois, Colin Matthes, and Matt Relkin. Hailing from Colorado, Wisconsin, and New York, these three artists reference distinct yet cohesive aesthetics using watercolors, acrylic, and ink. The exhibition represents a relevant cross-section of contemporary art from around the country with nods to architectural precision, traditional tattoos, and narrative illustration.

Artist bios:
Aron Dubois is from Boulder, CO and now resides in Denver, CO where he works at Kaze Gallery and Tattoo Studio. Within the tattoo industry, Dubois is recognized as a strongly talented tattooist whose approach to traditional tattoo design is uniquely his own. This original aesthetic of shadow and hue spills into his fine art using ink and watercolor on paper. He has shown across the U.S. travels extensively for his tattoo work. Matt Relkin graduated in 1999 from Ringling School of Art and Design in his hometown of Sarasota, FL. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY where he practices photography, writing, and recording music in addition to his fine art. Relkin works largely in acrylic on panel with a level of detail rarely matched by others. Relkin has exhibited extensively across the country and this is his first time showing in Portland.
