Owner and curator, Paige Prendergast, opened Breeze Block Gallery in 2006 in a little alley in N. Portland before moving to our current location in the China Town arts district.  In our fourth year in business, we host monthly First Thursday art openings.  Sign up for our newsletter to the right for updates.

Paige was born and raised in our lovely city of Portland, OR. She lives with her cat named Awesome and is fortunate enough to have an amazing community of friends and family that are the real engine behind Breeze Block.  Thank you to all whose hands have helped in remodeling our four locations, creating art, and giving valuable time.  Much love.

Behind the Name:

In the UK, cinder blocks are called breeze blocks. Coincidentally, all our buildings have been made out of breeze blocks – an appropriate metaphor for our intention of always creating something, one block at a time.
